However, I am taking private English classes and considering joining Toastmasters to develop my skills in this area." Unit 6 : Handling Pressure & Tell me when you demonstrated ... Tell Me How You Managed a Challenging Project? "When working on projects I always remind my team of the importance of flexible planning, proper execution, good communication, and action-taking . Having an open-mind approach to tasks and projects is essential to managing situations and planning the best approach to deliver them on time and on budget. A typical example of managing a software development project requires detailed planning with the agility to adapt to unexpected changes. I would identify the departments to be involved, and select the key leaders that would report to me. I would have meetings to define the project purpose, milestones, and the final deadline. Once I have the plan ready, I would organize a kick-off meeting and hold regular meetings with team leaders, departments, and executive management."
What is your leadership style? / How do you manage your teams? "I regard myself as a supportive hands-off manager . I give my team the opportunity to learn their work through on-the-job experience and training. People regard me as approachable ; in that, I make sure my team knows they can come to me with problems or questions at any time. I also try to lead from the front as a hands-on manager , if an urgent or critical situation occurs and also on the most important projects.
For instance , in one case, a local dealer made a mistake and forgot to place an order for some spare parts for his customer. This led to complaints from the customer about this dealer. I took the responsibility to personally take the order to this dealer to demonstrate our commitment to them. This also was a great opportunity to strengthen our relationship and reliability as a supplier to all their vehicles that use our parts." Part 2: Interview Examples, STAR Method Example 1:
