Topic: Yellow-legged gull Reading > Academic > P8 > Yellow-legged gull The chart below provides information about homes sold in Lowa City, Coralville and North Liberty in 2008 and 2009. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. Example Answer The bar chart illustrates information about homes sold in Iowa City, Coralville and North Liberty in 2008 and 2009. It is clear that Iowa City gets popularity among people because the amount of homes sold in it reaches the highest point during 2008 and 2009. Nevertheless, the situation with homes in Coralville and North Liberty is not the same. According to the graph, Iowa City is the most popular place for living because the number of homes sold in 2008 is about 850 and 870 in 2009. To sharp contrast to this, is the situation in Coralville. It is clear from the graph that less amount of homes was sold in that place. The chart illustrates a much better situation in North Liberty.
It is clear that more than 600 homes were sold in 2009 and more than 500 home in 2008. The chart illustrates that during 2008 and 2009 the tendency of selling homes in the mentioned places remains almost the same. The graph below shows an update on Rhino poaching in south Africa between 2010 to 2012. Example Answer T he given bar graph pictorially represents the statistics concerning the Rhino Poaching in South Africa between the years 2010 and 2012. According to the statistics, it is clearly evident that the rhino poaching has been high during the years of 2010 and 2011 all over the South African Province. On the other hand, poaching has relatively come down in the year of 2012 when compared to the other two years. However, thankfully, the poaching has been showing a downfall in the year 2012 all over the province. There are various regions whose poaching has remained stable as compared to past one year like North West. Among the specified locations, the highest amount of poaching had occurred the Kruger National Park followed by Limpopo, North West and Kwa-Zulu Natal. On the other hand, the least amount of poaching activities has been evident in Northern Cape and Marakele National Park. The all-time high was about 250 Rhinos being poaching in the Kruger National Park. The chart below shows estimated world illiteracy rates by region and by gender for the year 2000. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below. Estimated World illiteracy rates, by region and gender, 2000. Example Answer The given bar chart shows the approximate world illiteracy rates by gender and region for the year 2000. As is observed in the given column graph, in all cases, the illiteracy rate among women was higher than men. Developed countries had almost ignorable illiteracy rate. On the contrary, about half of the population in South Asia, Arab states and Africa were illiterate. The illiteracy rate in Latin America / Caribbean and East Asia / Oceania was only 1 percent (approximately), 10 percent and 14 percent (approximately) respectively, considering both male and female. Sub-Saharan Africa, the Arab States and South Asia had rates of approximately 40%, 41% and 45%. Illiterate women were higher than the illiterate men, in all the given countries. In the developed countries, the proportion of literacy among men and female was almost similar, but the differences increased for Asia, Arab states and Africa. Among the given six countries, the South Asian population were far more illiterate than any other country. The chart shows the division of household tasks by gender in Great Britain. Summaries the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant. Example Answer The bar graph reveals the necessary information on household tasks by males and females respectively. The country represented is Great Britain. It is seen that the tasks are Cooking, Cleaning, Gardening, Odd jobs maintenance and washing clothes. In major tasks, females are more dominant, whereas males have less share in minutes per person daily. However, it is even observed that females in Britain spend the most time on cooking, baking and childcare. Analysing the bar graph, it is witnessed that females devote 74 minutes a day, which is an all-time high, and males 30 minutes for a similar task. Surprisingly, males contribute their major time on gardening and pet care, which is at 49.5 minutes. Whereas, the least amount of time is spent on ironing and sewing by men and females are least in odd jobs. Hence, the female has taken over on cooking, and males on gardening, making it wiser distribution between both genders. In-depth Questions Interviewers ask in-depth questions to get detailed information about your behaviour or abilities. These questions usually relate directly to the role and give the interviewer an idea of how well you'd perform. Examples of in-depth questions include: Can you give an example of a time you applied your leadership skills at work? How do you work under pressure? How do you handle stress? Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why? Tell us about a time you exceeded your expectations. Have you ever missed a deadline? Why and what was the result?
